Build 2153883 is out for Windows

Avalanche Software released a Hogwarts Legacy PC patch on November 5. The developer’s patch notes list build 2153883 for Steam, the Epic Games Store and the Windows PC release. The update brings new graphics options and fixes to the existing game. It covers the PC builds listed in the notes.

The headline feature is NVIDIA DLSS 5 Neural Rendering. If you install the update and the castle looks familiar, that is expected. The new rendering option starts switched off.

DLSS 5 Neural Rendering is optional

The patch updates NVIDIA’s upscaling and adds a separate Neural Rendering setting. NVIDIA describes the latter as a 3D-guided pass that changes how lighting and materials are presented. Treat the graphics menu as two choices, an upscaling mode and an optional rendering effect.

The developer specifies a GeForce RTX 50 Series GPU and GeForce Game Ready Driver 616.64 or newer for local Neural Rendering. If the toggle is missing, compare the game build, GPU and driver to those requirements before changing other settings.

Steam Deck OLED and Intel XeSS changes

Steam Deck OLED and Steam Machine receive optimized graphics settings and virtual keyboard support. Those are separate entries in the patch notes. Steam Deck OLED owners should look for the device-specific changes in the update. The published Neural Rendering requirements apply separately.

Avalanche also updated Intel XeSS and added Intel XeSS Multi-Frame Generation support. The notes list fixes for graphics options that could save incorrectly and say that changing certain frame generation options now requires fewer restarts. They give no frame-rate targets for these changes.

GeForce NOW has a separate route

NVIDIA announced on November 5 that DLSS 5 for Hogwarts Legacy was available through GeForce NOW Ultimate. Its supported store list for the feature includes Steam, Epic Games Store and Xbox Play Anywhere. In a streaming session, the service renders the game on its hardware. The PC patch’s GPU requirement applies when the game renders locally.

Check that your store copy is supported and that your regional service offers the required plan before treating the streaming option as available to you.

How to compare the graphics options

Choose a scene you can return to and keep the camera, resolution, upscaling preset and frame generation setting steady. Toggle Neural Rendering and compare a bright window, a nearby character and a darker part of the room in the same view. Then move the camera along the same short route to see whether any changes stand out during play.

If you also want to compare frame generation, run that as a separate check. Changing both options together makes it harder to tell which one affected the look or feel of the scene.

Where to confirm the update

Check the November 5 developer notes for the build tied to your PC storefront and NVIDIA’s release notes for the supported rendering setup. Steam’s Mexico storefront still lists the Windows base game. Build 2153883 is an update to that existing listing.
