Version 2.1.0 arrives on PlayStation, Xbox and Steam

Bandai Namco released Tales of Eternia Remastered update 2.1.0 on November 2, 2026 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and Steam. Its patch notices in the Americas, Europe and Japan list the same rollout.

The remaster arrived in October for those systems and both Nintendo Switch models. It revisits the action RPG originally released in North America as Tales of Destiny II. The remaster already included a choice of original and updated graphics and sound effects.

A button can now call an Arte

The Arte Shortcut activates a skill with one press. Find it in Menu, under Customize and then Controls.

The game’s real-time 2D battles already combine Artes, combos and party coordination. Imagine a player who uses one Arte at the end of a familiar sequence. They can give that skill a direct input and learn it in an encounter they recognize. Seeing the usual animation gives them a way to check that they called the intended skill.

Arena visuals and Dragon Flash receive separate fixes

Bandai Namco corrected effects for some opponents’ moves in the Inferia Arena Tournament. The patch also reduced the oversized range and effects of Ras’s Dragon Flash.

A visual effect helps identify the attack that is happening. Range describes the space an attack can cover. In one case a returning player may see a clearer cue for an arena opponent’s move. With Dragon Flash, the distance the move reaches is part of the change, too. That difference matters to someone judging when to step in or back away.

The Xbox startup fix and station fix address different blockers

The Xbox Series X|S fix addresses launch failures with certain wireless devices connected. If you previously ran into that failure, the console and connected devices are the two details to compare with the patch note.

At Luishka Station, the update restores rightward movement after the conductor conversation. That gives someone who stopped at the scene a precise moment to check as soon as the dialogue hands control back. Bandai Namco also lists text and interface adjustments.

The remaster already offers other ways to change a session

The October release added Boost options for experience and encounter frequency, along with destination markers and Battle Retry. Those tools already let players change how a trip through Inferia or Celestia unfolds, from the number of encounters along the route to how they recover from a defeat.

An Arte Shortcut operates on the scale of a single action. A player interested in reaching the next story scene might spend more time with the navigation and encounter settings. A player revisiting one particular fight has a more immediate reason to explore the new Controls entry.

Check the update version before looking for the shortcut

The launch patch had version number 2.0.0. The installation sizes in those older notes refer to that download, and some include the whole game. If you are preparing storage for the November patch, keep the October figures attached to the release they describe. Applying the new update requires internet access.

Bandai Namco plans to bring 2.1.0 to Switch and Switch 2 later. The Nintendo date remains open in the November notice. If you are looking for the one-button setting on either system, check for a publisher update for your specific edition before rearranging your controls.
