The Pokémon Pokopia Pumpkaboo event has started

Pokémon Pokopia's Pumpkaboo event, Pumpkaboo's Sweet Surprises, is active on Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo's October 17 announcement gives an October 17, 5:00 a.m. opening and a November 1, 4:59 a.m. closing, both in local time.

That final time matters when planning a Halloween session: November 1 is an early-morning cutoff, rather than a promise of access throughout that day. As of this October 19 report, the published window remains open. This is an in-game event for Pokopia owners; the announcement does not offer the complete game free or introduce a new platform release.

Entry depends on progress as well as the calendar

Nintendo requires version 2.0.1, a completed town important request, a rebuilt Pokémon Center and Camouflage learned from Zorua in Bleak Beach. Use the current real-world system date and time and connect to the internet for the first event launch.

For someone returning after a break, a useful preparation order is to check the installed build, then review those progress milestones before looking for the visitor. Reaching the correct calendar date alone does not satisfy the other conditions. Avoid treating a missing encounter as evidence that the event has ended until the stated entry requirements have been checked.

Pumpkin candy leads to furniture and a habitat

Talk to Pumpkaboo near the Pokémon Center, use Camouflage to surprise Pokémon and earn pumpkin candy, then exchange it for themed decorations. Those items can create a habitat for Gourgeist. Befriended event Pokémon remain after the event ends.

The seasonal reward loop therefore connects an activity with a building goal. For a manageable session, decide whether to focus first on meeting Pumpkaboo or on collecting decorations for the habitat. We are not publishing an exchange-price table or a fastest farming route: Nintendo's notice does not supply the figures needed to verify either.

Check the location before arranging Link Play

The event excludes Cloud Islands and Bubbly Basin. For Link Play, Nintendo specifies Palette Town and requires speaking to Pumpkaboo for the event details beforehand. Spectator Mode cannot participate.

That distinction is useful when coordinating with a friend: agree on the intended town and complete the introductory conversation before setting up the shared session. Joining somebody else's activity as a spectator should not be assumed to unlock the same event interactions. Nintendo's US notice also says online features require a Nintendo Account and Nintendo Switch Online, with country availability restrictions.

Version 2.0.1 is an existing update

Nintendo's Americas support history dates version 2.0.1 to September 7, 2026. The event's requirement does not make that patch an October release. To check it, highlight Pokopia on the HOME Menu and press + or −; select Software Update, then Over the Internet, to request an update.

The support page says save data remains usable after updating and players need matching software versions to play together. Before a group session, compare the actual version numbers rather than assuming two consoles updated at the same time. The number under the game title identifies the game's build; checking it is more precise than reporting only that a console is connected.

What this report confirms

This report follows Nintendo's US event notice and Americas software-support page, checked on October 19. It confirms the published schedule and participation conditions, rather than a personal playthrough. The cover is an original seasonal concept illustration, not an official screenshot or a depiction of an undisclosed reward.

Use the linked announcement when checking the event close to its deadline, and consult regional Nintendo support for account or service availability. If the publisher changes the window or requirements, those details should take priority over an older saved checklist. No future return date for this event is established by the notices used here.
